Sweet Paper was founded in 1956 by Samuel Scheck in Miami, Florida and grew to 450 employees and 10 locations when it was acquired by Lagasse in May of 2005.
Sweet Paper was the cornerstone of the Scheck Family for 50 years. As the largest Pure Re-distributor of its kind in the United States, Sweet Paper was an industry leader. Family values, service, and partnership with our vendors and customers were the foundation of the business. 50 years of constant growth were the result of these core values. With locations in Miami, Orlando, Tampa, Atlanta, Raleigh, Nashville, Dallas, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Boston, and Puerto Rico, Sweet covered most of the United States. Sweet also had a robust Export department selling the Caribbean and Central and South America.
Lead by an incredible management team and 450 dedicated employees, Sweet Paper became a pillar of the paper and plastics distribution community. With innovations in transportation, technology, warehousing, and service, Sweet grew to more than 1 million square feet of distribution carrying over 20,000 skus and almost 6,000 customers.
In 2005, Sweet was proud to become part of the LagasseSweet family owned by United Stationers, a Fortune 500 company.
